Nope. The distance from the brim to the top of the hat is exactly the same as the distance from edge to edge of the brim.

Explanation

Hard to believe, isn't it? We aren't used to correctly gauging the height vs. the width of something like a hat. To make it harder, in this optical illusion, the angle at which we see the brim makes it narrow and thus it looks smaller.
