Impossible Cube 3D Optical Illusion
What is wrong with this cube?
Explanation
This optical illusion is taking advantage of the 3D techniques of perspective angles, overlap and shading to create a cube that is impossible to make. We see the object in perspective, however, the relationship is misleading. The perspective angles which are added where the six bars come together make them look like they are sticking out. They overlap in places where they should not. The shading causes us to group together parts of the optical illusion and assume they are on the same plane.
Interestingly, this optical illusion incorporates three Impossible Triangles where the six bars come together.
And you thought seeing was believing.
