Blue and Yellow Spinning Wheel Optical Illusion

We can not really make any claims about what you will or won't see in this optical illusion since it may depend on the type of computer hardware and screen you have. However, if you take a real paper disk with a pattern like this and spin it, you may see some interesting color effects.
We are not aware of a complete, adequate explanation for this optical illusion. The effect, however, does seem to be related to how fast color is sensed in the cones of the eye. The sensing of blue seems to be detected the fastest, whereas the sensing of green seems to be detected the slowest. Red is in between. These color effects can even be seen when using a black and white disk.
